![]() ![]() An inexpensive way to a little collection is Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists vol.2, which includes Beriot Air Varie & Bohm Sarabande (level 4's), and Bohm Intro & Polonaise fr. The level 4 & 5 list would be right up your girl's line since it includes much of Suzuki books 4-6. Since you are in NJ, your local music store may have a copy of the New York State School Music Association manual (NYSSMA). The "Swan" is a cello piece, and as such is good at level 6 or so, but as a violin piece it lacks richness and is a challenge only in what is required to sustain tone and continuity (otherwise, more level 4, in my opinion, for violin). Another good piece at this level is the Tchaikovsky Melodie. It does not have everything appropriate, but, Meditation that you mentioned, is in there, and Monti's Czardas, Kreisler's Melody-from Gluck. To work on a piece you would want to print it so you can mark fingerings (and carry it around with you). Foot pedals are sold (elsewhere) that allow you to advance the music as you play from the screen. You can download it into a computer and either print the pieces you want or read them off the computer screen. ![]() I mean, like and entire library's worth! At a price of about $20 you can't go wrong. ![]() There is much supplemental solo music in the CD Sheet Music CD-ROM disk "Violin solos and Duets" ( ). ![]()
